Autobiography
I am a twenty-four-year-old woman named Aswitha hailing from Mulagumoodu. I entered this world on the 24th of August 1999. My name, 'Aswitha,' carries the beautiful meaning of 'Beauty of victory'. Throughout my 24 years, I have encountered numerous challenges and joys, shaping me into the person I am today. My character is a blend of ambition, generosity, and thoughtfulness. I possess a determined spirit, yet I carry myself with a sense of calm. I strongly advocate for pursuing your dreams and beliefs with unwavering determination, relying on the strength of God as nothing worthwhile comes easily, and with faith, all things are possible. My family includes my loving parents, a brother, a sister-in-law, and my beloved pets - two dogs and several cats. My affection for animals, particularly cats, knows no bounds. Additionally, writing poetry is a passion that continues to blossom within me.
My dad served in the military and now runs his own wood carving business. Meanwhile, my mom is the headmistress at a government middle school. Abish, my older brother by three years, helps out with our dad's business. He recently got married on April 10, 2023. His wife is an incredible baker. Our parents have worked tirelessly for our well-being, often sacrificing their own time for us.
In my early childhood, I spent most of my time in my grandmother's home with my brother. Those were golden memories with my granny. She is my lodestar. I played and watched movies and cartoons on granny's black-and-white television with my brother. We didn't live luxuriously but we were happy. Through this, I understood money cannot buy happiness.
Then I went to a nursery school for a few days. Further, I studied in St. Michael matric. higher secondary school, Kattathurai, where I completed my kindergarten and studied till 4th. I am very much interested in singing and dancing so I used the opportunities to dance on stage from a young age. In my life, I didn't consider singing and dancing as skills, instead, I used them as therapy for stress.
In the 2002 vacation, we went to Delhi. Those were precious and memorable days of my life. In 2009, I took my first holy communion. From that, I became a bit more spiritual person.
I completed my 10th grade at Excel Central School, Thiruvattar. For 11th and 12th grade, I opted for the Maths-biology group and attended Sacred Heart Matric. Higher Secondary School in Padanthalumoodu. During those two years, I lived away from my parents. I have a mix of good and not-so-good memories from that time. Academically, I was below average, which reflected in my 12th-grade marks. Uncertain about my future after 12th grade, I let my parents guide me. Eventually, I ended up pursuing literature and enrolled at Infant Jesus College of Arts and Science for Women in Mulagumoodu, conveniently located near my home.
As a fresher in June 2017, I went to college clueless. I wasn't ready to do my degree in a college close to my hometown. But sooner my life changed. During my school times, I was an unnoticed kid, but in my college days, I became a little popular. It may be insane but I like it when people make fun of me and laugh because knowingly or unknowingly I become the reason behind their bright smiles.
I became close with one of my classmates, Nithya, she's just like a mentor to me. She never cries about her problems, instead, she'll just stay calm. I don't know what she is going through but she will make my day better. We won't have lengthy conversations instead have fun by kicking and beating. She was the one who motivated me to publish my first anthology. She was there in my life when I was happy, sad, confused, recovered and even now.
Due to the pandemic, I decided to continue my master's degree at the same college. The first semester went through online classes, and then during the remaining semester, we started to enjoy coming to college daily. But I didn't enjoy it wholeheartedly because at that time my mother's physical condition was not good. All thanks to my father who was always with her and took care of her like a child. Here I lived with my brother, who was looking after my father's business and cooked for me and became a bachelor father. At some point, due to my health issue, he wasn't able to concentrate on both business and me, so I decided to move to my mother in one of my Aunts' houses in Nagercoil. Then we both recovered and came back to Mulagumoodu, our native place.
One of my other sweet friends, more like a sister, Jeni. She knows how to change any serious situation to a friendly one. She was my school friend and we went to the same high school and after college, we went to the same coaching center. She helped me to overcome my fear, pulled me out of my comfort zone and to socialize with others.
I have published poems "To my soulmate", " Nectar of my life", and "YOU-You oddly uber-dude" in an anthology "The Beauty of Creation and Love" published on 26th November 2021, ISBN:978-93-90781-91-1 organized by ESN Publications and got a certificate of publication from the World Book of Records, London. Then in 2022 I published my anthology entitled "Orphic Aurora" under ISBN: 978-93-93967-67-1 by ESN Publications and received a certificate from the Indian Book of Records. I also contributed a book chapter entitled -Role of Myth in "The Silent Patient" by Alex Michaelides, for the book "Modernistic Discourse of Literature and Language (volume I)", under ISBN: 978-93-93967-12-1, published by ESN publication in April 2022.
After my MA, I started to concentrate on Ph.D. entrance exams. I wasn't qualified in both of my attempts at the UGC NET exam. Then I decided to study B Ed so that I could be eligible for the TRB exams. Now I am doing my B Ed in Pope John Paul II, Mulagumoodu.
