Taking a swayam course and exam has not only helped me gain knowledge about my field of interest but it has also given me recognition for my achievements. This success has motivated me to keep learning things and work harder in the future.

Government High School Cherukole Annual Day

 On January 31, 2025, the Annual Day celebration took place at Government High School Cherukole, uniting both the primary and high school students in a collaborative program. The event commenced with the flag being hoisted at 9:30 AM. The formal program began at 2:00 PM with the traditional "Tamizhthaai Vaazhthu," performed by the 10th-grade girls. A classical welcome dance was presented by two students, one from each school. Following this, Mrs. Glory delivered the welcome address, setting a warm tone for the proceedings. The headmistress of the high school, Mrs. Sreekala, then presented the annual report, followed by the primary school headmistress, Mrs. Sarojini, who also shared insights from her report.  On January 28, 2025, Ilakkiya Mandram , a vibrant literary forum, was successfully held at Government High School Cherukole. The event showcased impressive participation from students who engaged in a variety of competitions, including drawing, elocution, and a quiz. In the drawing competition, students were encouraged to express their personal aspirations through their artwork, promoting creativity and self-reflection. This was followed by an inspiring elocution contest focused on the theme "The Virtues of Discipline," where many students displayed their public speaking skills and passion for the subject. After a refreshing lunch break, the excitement continued with a quiz competition that featured eight teams of four members each, all competing on the topic "Our District: Kanniyakumari." Government High School Cherukole Sports Day

 On January 23, 2025, a successful sports day was organized at Government High School Cherukole, showcasing the enthusiasm and participation of our students. The festivities commenced with an assembly, setting a positive tone for the day's events. The activities were divided into two categories: the first category included students from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, while the second category comprised students from the 9th and 10th grades. The events began with a series of running races, first for the boys in the first category, followed by the girls, and continuing with the boys and girls in the second category. In addition to the races, a variety of engaging games were conducted. The younger category girls participated in a lemon-and-spoon race, while boys competed in a balloon blast. The second-category girls participated in a fill-the-bottle race, and the second-category boys enjoyed a tail game. School Pongal celebration

 On January 10th, 2025, the vibrant Pongal celebration brought life and joy to the Government High School in Cherukole. The school campus was transformed into a festive haven, beautifully adorned with intricate and colorful kolam designs that greeted every passerby.  Teachers and students came together, their laughter and chatter filling the air as they meticulously prepared the traditional pongal dessert. The aroma of the sweet dish wafted through the school, adding to the festive spirit. As the Pongal boiled, excitement bubbled over, with everyone joyfully chanting "Pongalo Pongal!" in unison, their voices ringing with exuberance. In a delightful gesture of sharing, pieces of freshly harvested sugarcane were distributed among the students, symbolizing prosperity and sweetness. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie, making the celebration a cherished memory for all who participated.

Children's Day

 Children's Day is a special occasion dedicated to celebrating the vibrant spirit and boundless potential of children. On the 14th of November, Government High School in Cherukole transformed into a festive arena filled with joy and laughter as it marked this important day. The celebrations commenced melodiously with the “ Thamizhthai Vaazhthu ,” a poignant anthem, gracefully sung by the enthusiastic 10th-grade students, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the event. Mrs. Jenisha, with her infectious energy, delivered an engaging welcome speech that echoed in the hearts of everyone present, fostering a sense of unity and pride. Mental Health and Cyber security online workshop

 The safety, security, and mental well-being of children are vital components in fostering their overall development and growth. Recognizing the importance of these aspects, the Department of School Education and Literacy, under the auspices of the Minister of Education, took proactive measures to celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2024. They organized a national online workshop specifically designed for students in grades 6 through 12, addressing two critical themes: Mental Health and Cyber Security. This engaging workshop took place on the afternoon of October 10, from 3 PM to 4 PM, providing a platform for young minds to explore the significance of mental health awareness and the implications of cyber safety in today’s digital age. Through interactive discussions and expert-led sessions, students were encouraged to share their thoughts and learn valuable skills to navigate both their emotional well-being and the online world responsibly.

TB awareness program

 Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious illness that primarily affects the lungs. The bacteria that cause tuberculosis can spread when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or even sings, releasing tiny droplets containing the germs into the air. Another person can then inhale these droplets, allowing the germs to enter their lungs. In response to this health concern, the government of Tamil Nadu organized a tuberculosis awareness program for school students. On November 4th, an awareness camp was held at Government High School in Cherukole. Members from Kuttakuzhi Hospital were present to explain the causes, effects, and preventive measures related to tuberculosis to both students and teachers. The program proved to be beneficial for everyone, increasing awareness about this airborne disease.

Freshers Day

   Hey there! Just wanted to let you know about the awesome Freshers Day celebration that took place on August 16th, 2024 at Pope John Paul II College of Education. The day kicked off with a beautiful Holy Mass in the auditorium and then the fun began! Abarna warmly welcomed everyone, followed by Asha and her team performing a delightful welcome song. Sakthi and her group then wowed the crowd with a vibrant classical dance, and Rexlin and Helga serenaded everyone with a melodious song. Abisha then shared a lovely poetry reading, and Bersha and her group brought the house down with a mesmerizing folk dance. Preethi shared her experiences at the college, and then the highlight of the program was John Wycliffe's energetic solo song. Rev. Fr. Michael Alocious then delivered a heartwarming presidential address, followed by a captivating group song by Abiya Sherin and her team. Tour

 Our college put together an amazing two-day tour for us. We kicked off our adventure on Thursday, July 4th, around 10:45 pm with a heartfelt prayer from our coordinator. After a refreshing stop at a hotel in the morning, we headed to Wonderla theme park. While my classmates enjoyed water games and adventures, I chose to take in the atmosphere and simply wander around. We wrapped up our time at Wonderla around 5:30 pm and then went for a memorable marine boating experience in Kochi at 7:00 pm. The next morning, we visited the stunning Aathirapally waterfalls and had a delightful lunch there before making our way to the hanging bridge. One of the best moments was walking with my friend Asha (my twin soul 😜) on the Aathirapally Hanging Bridge during a sudden rain shower. Later, we visited Ernakulam Lulu Mall, where I picked up a few fantastic items. On our way back, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at a restaurant before returning home safely.

Drug Awareness Program

On a beautiful Friday, June 14, 2024, our college hosted a meaningful awareness program, graciously supported by dedicated police officials. This insightful initiative was carried out under the guidance of the university's higher education department to raise awareness about world elder abuse and drug prevention. The program commenced at 11 o'clock with the angelic voices of the choir members filling the air with a touching prayer song and the resonant notes of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The warm welcome extended by Merclin set the tone for the event. Amidst an air of anticipation, the chief guest was presented with a vibrant bouquet, followed by an engaging address from our esteemed chief guest, Inspector Mr. Kanagarajan, who was joined by head constables, Mr. Rajan and Mr. Ajmal Khan. The vibrant cultural fest took place on the 17th of April 2024 at Pope John Paul II College of Education in Mulagumoodu. The entire college came together to participate in the diverse events held at the interactive hall. The program commenced at 2 PM with a soul-stirring prayer song, followed by a warm welcome address by a student-teacher. The students infused the atmosphere with their talents as they showcased various cultural performances including dance, song, skit, group song, mime, and group dance. This celebration not only provided a platform for the students to shine but also fostered a positive outlook in the hearts of all attendees. The event drew to a close at nearly 5:00 PM, leaving behind enduring and treasured memories for everyone involved.

On the 12th of January, 2024, the vibrant and colorful Pongal festival was joyously celebrated at Pope John Paul II College of Education. The air was filled with excitement as staff members and students adorned themselves in traditional Tamil Nadu attire, adding to the festive atmosphere. The students eagerly grouped into three teams to partake in a variety of lively competitions including dance, song, and poetry, each showcasing their talents with great enthusiasm.    On November 27, 2023, the students and staff of Pope John Paul II College of Education organized a meaningful rally called "Kuppai Illaa Kumari" to advocate for a clean environment. This purposeful march aimed to raise public awareness and garner support for the establishment of a clean and hygienic city environment. Participants were passionate about promoting a greener and more sustainable community, and their efforts sought to inspire positive change and action towards environmental conservation.

Christmas day celebration

The Christmas celebration took place at our college on December 21, 2023. The event commenced with a prayer song at 10:00 a.m., followed by a welcome speech. Miss Merclin Jesia, one of the student-teachers, delivered a speech about Christmas. This was followed by an angel dance performance and a cake-cutting ceremony. The students sang Christmas carols, and a skit depicting the birth of Jesus Christ was presented. Subsequently, a Christmas dance was performed, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks. Following this, we exchanged gifts with our friends to mark the festive occasion.

FM PROGRAM

On the 30th of November 2023, a lively FM program titled "Kaloori Galatta" took place at 11:02 am at our Pope John Paul College of Education. The program involved students divided into five groups, each participating in a range of engaging activities such as poetry recitations, singing performances, group discussions, storytelling, and speeches. The event was a live telecast beginning at 11:02 am and concluding around noon. It provided a platform for us to express our talents, creativity, and teamwork in diverse and entertaining.

            From the 26th of October to the 28th I along with a few of my classmates participated in an exhibition at Bethany School. We chose the theme of agriculture and food safety We participated with the guidance of one of our assistant professors Mrs Reshma. She and other faculty members also supported us a lot. We didn't receive any prize but we got a certificate.  We enjoyed it for those three days. It was a wonderful experience.
